What is a proxy?
A proxy is when an active member association president is unable to attend a Chapter meeting and designates another eligible active association member (from a different active member association) to vote on their behalf.
Who can be issued a proxy?
The president authorizing the proxy may issue their proxy to any eligible active PORAC/Valley Chapter member, provided they are the member of a different active member association. A proxy cannot be issued to a member within the same active member association as the issuer.
When does a proxy have to be submitted?
A proxy may be submitted to the Valley Chapter president or presiding officer at any time, prior to the official start (1900 hours). However, it must be dated at least four (4) days prior to the intended meeting. Provided the proxy has been submitted and received, in accordance with Chapter bylaws, and the issuing president has been validated through the PORAC Membership Roster, it shall be a valid proxy and shall be used at the intended meeting.
