CHAPTER GOVERNANCE |
The Valley Chapter is comprised of member associations located throughout 14 California counties. Due to the large geographical footprint of the Chapter, we rely on this web site, as well as e-blasts, from our member contact list, ensure the proper order of business and the most widespread distribution of information.
Monthly meetings are held at various locations and hosted by member associations. The purpose of these meetings is discuss member, operational, and political business. The day-to-day operations are handled by the Chapter Board of Directors. Chapter meetings, business, and voting are governed by Chapter bylaws and in accordance with PORAC bylaws. Procedural processes are handled with guidance from Robert's Rules of Order. |
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors are elected, by the membership, for two-year terms. The President, Secretary, and State Director are elected in even years, with the Vice President and Treasurer being elected in odd years. Nominations for the respective positions open during the September meeting, with elections taking place in October of each year.
Newly elected officers take office at the November meeting, typically held during the PORAC Annual Conference of Members.
