If You Are Hosting
While some do not take the threat of COViD seriously, it is important that we do our part to ensure that all of our members feel safe when attending Chapter meetings. COViD has proven to be the number one killer of police officers in 2020, taking 139 lives (as of Nov. 10). The last thing we want is to act irresponsibly. As such, we ask that host associations consider the following when hosting a meeting (whether at a restaurant or catering):

COVID Ettiquette
Whether you are out in public or attending an event (such as a Chapter meeting), it is important that we take necessary precautions to ensure that we are safe and respectful of those around us. To assist in maintaining everyone's safety we encourage all persons attending Chapter meetings to follow statewide and/or county/local guidelines to the best of their abilities. Some of these precautions include;
Dinner will be catered for the meeting. Sacramento POA will have a designated person serving food, as opposed to everyone eating buffet style. This will help prevent multiple people from touching the common utensils and will allow for a significantly lower chance of cross-contamination.
In selecting locations for our meetings, we are reaching out and requesting (not mandating):
- Respect the personal space of those around you
- Give an elbow bump, instead of a handshake
- Wear a mask when not eating or drinking
- Wash your hands frequently, or use hand sanitizer
- Please cough/sneeze into your elbow or a napkin
